The staff is amazing but the facilities are in dire need of an upgrade. It is dark and stuffy inside, and the lights went out briefly because the building lost electricity, "oh, it's an old building, it does that!" I'd love for a larger percentage of taxes to go toward this library so it can get the care that it deserves.

I really appreciate and enjoyed this library, first and foremost because of these memorials located right in the front of the library each equally worth mentioning.The first a Vietnam memorial in remembrance of those who risked there lives for our freedoms.The second is for first responders more specifically for (2) of Bryan's firefighters who passed in 2013 during the knights of Columbus fire, the third is the city of Bryan historical bell which visitors can ting and do when visiting the library this library has so much to offer.Having two floors the upper level is designated for the kids, the lower for the adults, the kids area has two separate variations of books.one designed mainly of pictures, the other mostly literature.which is great because we all learn differently it also has a designated play area and a 3D printer for all to use, just simply write your name on the page,then wait your turn patiently.The librarian will guide you with the rest.There are two separate computer stations one on each level,free of charge,a fax machine also free and a printer 25 cents for b&w ,$1.00 for color.there are designated charging ports as well, two for the young adults upstairs and two for the adults on the lower level with additional areas with charging ports for a more private sitting.there is wifi, public restrooms on both levels,same for the water fountains.it is wheelchair accessible and does have a elevator or stairs if you prefer.there is a variety of periodicals, magazines,dvds, audio books and regular books both fiction and my favorite non-fiction.along the upper level wall are a series of benches where you can just grab a book or magazine,sit and get inspired.its never to crowded, although library usage does pick up around the lunch hour.there is plenty of parking including those for handicap.to check out books one must be from the Brazos valley and must have a i.d., books are checked out for a period of 3 weeks, once renewed for another 3 weeks unless someone has asked for it and is waiting in line to check it out.once returned books can be dropped off at any designated book drop or at the Larry j. ringer library in college station and there are no late fees.now that's love.I sincerely enjoy being here and talking to the librarians they are so welcoming and are a treasure trove of information.I would like to mention that there is a treasure trove of resource information on both levels of the facility.the atmosphere is always quiet but if you get cold quick like I do, please be sure to bring your sweater..

Denied use of a "Public" service. I have lived in the area for 13 years. I have paid taxes like everyone else. I qualify for a library card as much as anybody else. Except now I don't. For the first time in my adult life I am temporarily experiencing homelessness. I am trying to use as many resources as possible to get on my feet. One of the biggest resources is information. But I am being told that I don't deserve access to those resources because I am currently at a shelter. I'm not running the streets. I'm not some druggy. I'm doing what I'm supposed to do to get back on my feet. And yet one of the biggest and best resources is now being denied to me. Because even though I have proof of address, they want me to have a "real" address. I was told, "Sorry we just don't issue to homeless people. But when you get a real address you can come back. Sorry." Then I was wonderfully informed that they had a free shelf for "people like me." Wow. Thanks. I just want to be able to read. And even though I have paid my fair share of taxes to the county, my unfortunate circumstances are being held against me like a knife to the throat. Honestly do better. How do you expect people to improve when you don't give them the chance or ability? Do better...

Weekday mornings are so calm and peaceful. The children’s section is stocked with great books and activities for quiet play. As homeschoolers we find a table to sit and get some work done. The only item missing is Nintendo Switch games for checkout.

The Clara B Mounce Library has a ton of manga, hidden in the corner of the upstairs young adult fiction section, that's really cool. When I first went through the section I was taken aback at how I had never noticed it before, and after looking around a bit was pleasantly surprised to find they had complete collections of different mangas, some of which I hadn't read yet. Its now my go to section. The rest of the upstairs is also really nice and the librarians are always up there to help. Its an amazing library and I can't wait to visit again!
