The place is huge... I went to a university smaller than this library... The bathroom is squicky clean ... And the children have their own separate bathroom... That was good... 👍 The library has an elevator to the you to the second floor... The open space is gorgeous... The customer service is impressive... Everyone i talked with was willing to go beyond to help me... But one of the young lady i spoke with seem to be clueless about fish farming... But she did try her hardest to help me... They have quite a few books. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful library to read a few books or spend an hour or two going through books, CD's and DVD's this library is the place to be...

This is a grogeous, clean library inside and out! The employees are super helpful as well. I was helped by an employee Lisa (who was actually headed somewhere else in the library but stopped just to help me) and was pleased to find out that I can fax documents for free. It was my first time ever faxing a document and Lisa walked me through the process. I was also helped at the reception desk by another employee, Sam. She helped me find the book I was looking for on the online catalog and pointing me in the right direction in regards to where in the library to locate the book. The shelves are very well lit, well labeled, organized, and I love how they have so many different sections. HOWEVER, I was offput by the "Minorities" section. As an African American male I felt diminished and disappointed rather than proud and empowered. This reduced my 5 star experience at the library to a 4 stars. I think there's a better name/language for this particular section. Some suggestions are "Racial Equity", "Diversity and Inclusion" and "Authors of Color".

Diana was most helpful with my a couple books I requested the library consider purchasing and also with transfers from other libraries not in the 7 cities. She spent a great deal of time with me and one book was offered in their digital library as an audiobook. She and Terry are very kind and knowledgeable. Terry helped me with the library’s languages. They offer Spanish tutorials on the library’s website. Very quiet, comfortable library. Both study rooms were taken but there are plenty places to study like what used to be the eating area. I’d recommend the main library on Virginia Beach Blvd. highly and plan to return often.

I remember when they were building this library. Me and my friends were running all around the construction site when they were gone playing with this and pretending to do that, we sure were young back then! It’s another one of those places where you bring your kids you can trick them you think you tell them you’re going to the mall, and then when they get out and you make them read.🤓 this place has two levels. It has a bookstore that sells supplies and some CDs. There’s plenty of parking there’s handicap access there’s a circle driveway in the front for people to pull in and do drop offs and pick ups if there’s a chance that you have not been there, well then you must go check this place out firsthand! It is extraordinary as far as libraries are concerned. It has solar features that light up the inside. It displays beautiful art sculptures and has a gallery area for hosting parties seminars and meetings. So Mark on your list is one of the seven wonders of Virginia Beach

Absolutely Stunning! The Entire staff is Wonderful and helpful. You can even Sign up for conference Quiet Rooms! This library is Top tier A+ Grant all the workers Raises they are lovely indeed. Very impressive.

I love it here! Fairly quiet. Always tidy. Availability to sit at a desk or in a private room. I still love it here I love the ease of walking in and being able to work in a space and the environment is usually quiet plenty of parking friendly employees highly recommend if you're in the area to get a library card to this location.

The children's section (reason i went) was understaffed. And the one woman that was there was not knowledgeable or friendly (kind of important for a childrens section)I asked for a recommendation for my toddler and she just said: go ahead and Google that. Same when I went to renew membership. Not the best experience.

40 year old library she said.. wouldn't know it. I came in here last year for covid test. Today I went to check out otherwise $$$$ study material & audio cds.. so much going on there. Beautiful Library. 2/3 über friendly staff. She took me to The CDs, how to look up digital checkouts for home, etc. People (all ages) were hanging out, working, studying relaxing. Hidden gem for sure. Very clean. In and out in 20. Next time I will linger and explore.

It's a really nice library. The children's play area isn't quite as large compared to some other libraries in the area, but it is well laid out, staff is quite helpful, there is a spacious event area, and a nice little book shop on premise.

The library is nice as long as you don’t have to go to the bathroom. I visited 3 times and 3 times the bathroom smelled horrible. Thursday May 28, 2026 I waked into the bathroom and almost threw up. I can’t deal with that again. I’m going have to another library to go to
